All 11 songs were recorded at a studio on a 2000 Summer night in Topanga Canyon, CA. the studio recording was missing until recovered in December 2021. David singing and accompanying himself with his 12-string guitar, A Night In The Canyon is full of intimate performances that includes six originals intertwined with five cover songs.

"Folks...there are new additions to the Bolin cannon on this CD. There is a lovely and faithful recording of the recently unearthed "Bus Station Blues". This calls for true pipes! David delivers. The song shows a sense of craft one would expect from Paul Simon or Todd Rundgren. "Someday Will Bring Our Love Home" mirrors the arrangement from Tommy's original demo before Private Eyes.
